Etna eruption leaves actor Filippo Laganà stranded at Catania airport

Actor and screenwriter Filippo Laganà reported being stranded at Catania Airport following flight suspensions caused by an eruption of Mount Etna. Laganà, a liver transplant recipient, expressed urgent concern via social media after finding himself without necessary medication.

He criticized the lack of support provided to travelers, noting that airport staff suggested traveling to Palermo at a personal cost of 700 euros without offering reimbursements or shuttle services. Laganà described the situation as "hallucinatory," questioning the adequacy of emergency protocols for passengers with urgent medical needs.

Following the initial ordeal, Laganà shared updates from Messina, stating he was taking a hydrofoil to Villa San Giovanni to access his medication.
