Etna lava flow cools in Valle del Leone, activity limited to high elevations

The Etna volcano continues to emit a weak lava flow in the Valle del Leone at roughly 2,700 m above sea level. Monitoring by the INGV Etna Observatory shows that the flow is poorly fed, with activity now confined to the upper sector of the valley.

The most advanced fronts of the lava field have become inactive and are in a cooling phase, while the distal part of the flow shows no signs of movement. Degassing from summit craters and low‑level seismic tremor have also been recorded. The observatory continues to track the evolution of the eruption and the associated volcanic parameters.
