ETO FC signs Moldovan striker Nicolae Rotaru

Hungarian OTP Bank Liga club ETO FC has announced the signing of 20-year-old Moldovan striker Nicolae Rotaru from the Moldovan champions, FC Petrocub Hincesti.

Rotaru has demonstrated significant versatility and growth throughout his early career. Originally utilized as a left-back during his senior debut with CSF Spartanii in 2023, he transitioned into a forward role, eventually serving as club captain at age 18. During the 2024 season, he recorded 4 goals and 2 assists in 18 appearances.

Following his move to FC Petrocub, Rotaru contributed to their league title win and gained European experience. In continental competitions, he scored 4 goals in 7 matches, including a brace against Borac Banja Luka in the Conference League qualifiers. His transfer marks a move from the Moldovan champion to the Hungarian top flight.
