Etruscan Liver returns to Piacenza from San Francisco

The Etruscan Liver, a unique bronze artifact, is returning to Palazzo Farnese in Piacenza after being exhibited at the Legion of Honor Museum in San Francisco as part of the international exhibition ‘The Etruscans: From the Heart of Ancient Italy’.

To ensure its safety during transport, the artifact is being moved in a specialized, climate-controlled, and tracked rigid container accompanied by an armed escort. The official repositioning of the relic in its display case will be marked by a ceremony on Thursday, September 24.

In conjunction with the return and the Festival of Contemporary Thought, the Archaeological-Roman Section of the Civic Museums will offer free admission from Thursday until the evening of Sunday, September 27.
