ETS partners with Passage to integrate AI into educational assessments
ETS, a global education and talent solutions organization, has entered into a strategic partnership with Passage, an AI infrastructure company. The collaboration aims to integrate TOEFL and GRE assessment insights with Passage’s AI processing and matching capabilities to help educational institutions identify and connect with students more effectively.
Through this partnership, ETS will utilize Passage’s technology to create AI-enabled workflows for recruitment and enrollment, while maintaining full operational control over test development, scoring, and security. The first set of capabilities for students and institutions is expected to launch this fall.
In a related discussion regarding the future of education, ETS CEO Amit Sevak emphasized the need for schools to strengthen fundamentals like math and reading while introducing career path exposure earlier in a student's development. Sevak also addressed the role of artificial intelligence in education, noting its potential for personalized learning and faster feedback, but cautioned that schools must implement safeguards to prevent cheating and the erosion of critical-thinking skills.
