Pietro Giovannini wins Sanremo Padel Experience Under 18 title

Pietro Giovannini won the Under 18 title at the Sanremo Padel Experience Finals, competing alongside Spanish partner Leon Ortega. The 18-year-old from Imperia secured the victory with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Stefano Indomenico and Gabriele Laurino.

The event is part of the FIP Promises circuit, a global initiative by the International Padel Federation focused on youth development. The circuit is expanding significantly, with 170 tournaments planned for 2026.

In other regional news, the Canottieri Sanremo club won the combined rowing and beach canoe classification at the first Beach Sprint Rowing & Canoe event for under 16s held in Sanremo. Meanwhile, in Salerno, the historic San Matteo Fair will not feature amusement rides this year following resident protests regarding parking and noise, leading the municipality to revoke the authorization.
