Eötvös Loránd University to host Dutch Doctoral Summer School in 2027

The Dutch Language, Literature and Culture in a Central European Context (DCC) has announced a Doctoral Summer School scheduled for July 9–16, 2027, in Budapest, Hungary. Hosted at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), the program will focus on the theme of ‘Polyphony in Literature and Linguistics.’

The curriculum will explore various perspectives on polyphony, including psycholinguistics, the language of emotions, linguistic landscaping, language acquisition, translation studies, and politics. Participants will engage in thematic lectures and group workshops to examine how diverse voices interact and which voices may be excluded from knowledge production.

The program is conducted entirely in Dutch and is designed for approximately 30 PhD and advanced MA students. Successful participants will earn 5 ECTS credits. Applications, which require an abstract aligned with the program's subthemes, must be submitted by November 30, 2026. The event is organized in collaboration with Comenius, the Taalunie, and various Dutch studies departments, supported by CEEPUS and Erasmus+ programs.
