EU AI Office launches expert call to set standards for high‑risk artificial intelligence

The European Commission’s AI Office has opened a call for experts and specialised organisations to join an online workshop aimed at defining the independence, qualification and methodological requirements for external evaluators of high‑risk general‑purpose AI systems. Applications are accepted until 21 June 2026, with the workshop tentatively scheduled for 15 July 2026. Participants will discuss risk‑assessment methods such as red‑team testing, impact studies and full‑model access, contributing to the implementation of the EU AI Regulation’s safeguards for powerful AI models.

Separately, Lefebvre Formación is offering a three‑session webinar series on 23, 25 and 29 June that will train HR professionals on the legal risks of using AI in personnel management. The course, led by AI specialist Hugo Ramallo García and tech‑law attorney Dolores Abuin, will identify which HR‑specific AI applications are classified as high‑risk under the EU framework, covering discrimination, algorithmic bias and transparency obligations.

Both initiatives aim to support compliance with the EU’s comprehensive AI rules and to promote responsible deployment of advanced AI technologies.
