EU AI Act implements new transparency and labeling mandates

Major provisions of the EU AI Act have come into effect, establishing significant new transparency and regulatory frameworks across Europe. Key mandates include the requirement for providers to inform users when they are interacting with AI and the compulsory labeling of AI-generated content, such as deepfakes (images, audio, or video) that could deceive the public.

Non-compliance with these regulations carries heavy penalties, with potential fines reaching up to 35 million euros or a percentage of a company's global annual turnover. To foster technological growth, the Act also includes support mechanisms like regulatory sandboxes for testing and certain reliefs for small businesses.

In the private sector, new AI-driven agentic platforms are emerging to automate complex tasks in finance and supply chains. For instance, Adra Technologies has launched Anchor, an AI solution for finance that utilizes Retrieval-Augmented Generation to reduce errors by up to 80 percent. Additionally, the Indian startup Superleap recently secured 4.3 million euros in Pre-Series A funding to develop AI-native CRM systems.
