Poland reports record egg production amid agricultural market shifts
Poland is experiencing significant shifts across several agricultural sectors. In the egg industry, production reached a record 14.4 billion units in 2025, making Poland the world's third-largest egg exporter after the USA and the Netherlands. Domestic consumption has also risen, with the average Pole consuming 218 eggs last year, driven by high-protein dietary trends.
Conversely, the apple market is facing a downturn. EU analysts report that August prices reached a five-year low, with Polish apple prices 40 percent lower than the previous year. Producers of dessert apples are expressing concern over low prices and rising costs, while the industrial apple market is impacted by competition from imported concentrates, particularly from Ukraine.
In the soybean sector, prices have seen a notable increase. Current purchase rates in Poland have reached up to 2,100 PLN per ton, a significant rise compared to the approximately 1,460 PLN per ton seen during the 2025 harvest.
