EU Commission adopts AI cybersecurity action plan to boost risk assessment

On July 7, the European Commission announced an action plan aimed at addressing the security risks posed by advanced artificial‑intelligence models in the cyber‑security domain. The plan builds on existing EU legislation and seeks to coordinate member‑state authorities, industry stakeholders and EU agencies to strengthen vulnerability mitigation, improve risk‑assessment procedures and guarantee secure access to AI‑driven systems.

The initiative calls for enhanced monitoring of AI‑related threats, the development of common standards, and increased resources for rapid response to cyber incidents involving high‑risk AI applications across the Union.
