EU Council approves 10 million euros for Balkan Medical Task Force

The EU Council has approved a 10 million euro aid measure through the European Peace Facility (EPF) to strengthen the operational capacities and readiness of the Balkan Medical Task Force (BMTF).

The BMTF integrates the military-medical capabilities of regional partners to provide medical support for international operations. This funding will also enhance the force's ability to protect civilian populations during natural disasters or man-made catastrophes.

Beneficiaries will receive equipment for field hospitals, military medical vehicles, communication and information systems, as well as technical training and services. This latest measure brings the total EU support for the BMTF via the EPF to 16 million euros.
