Ripple Secures Preliminary MiCA License in Luxembourg as Bitcoin Suisse Gains MiCAR Authorisation

Ripple announced that Luxembourg’s financial regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), has granted it preliminary approval for a Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) licence under the EU’s Markets in Crypto‑Assets (MiCA) framework. The provisional status precedes a full licence that would enable Ripple to offer regulated crypto‑asset and stable‑coin services across all 30 European Economic Area countries via MiCA’s passporting system. The approval complements Ripple’s existing Electronic Money Institution (EMI) licence in the region and is expected to accelerate adoption of its payment infrastructure by banks, fintechs and corporate clients.

Separately, Bitcoin Suisse (Europe) AG received a MiCAR CASP licence from the Liechtenstein Financial Market Authority (FMA), allowing it to expand its crypto‑trading, custody and staking services throughout selected EEA markets. The firm appointed Roman Przibylla as CEO of its European unit to lead the expansion aimed at high‑net‑worth individuals and institutional investors. Both licences come ahead of the EU‑wide MiCA compliance deadline of 1 July 2026, marking a significant step toward regulated crypto operations in Europe.
