EU delegation and Azerbaijani officials visit liberated territories

A delegation from the Council of the European Union’s Eastern Europe and Central Asia Working Party visited several regions in Azerbaijan, including Aghdam, Shusha, and Khankendi, on October 2. During the visit to the Aghdam district, the delegation was briefed by the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) on demining operations in Saricali village, noting that Aghdam is among the areas most heavily contaminated with mines and unexploded ordnance.

In Aghdam, officials discussed large-scale reconstruction and development projects in the liberated territories. The delegation also received briefings from the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons regarding efforts to identify mass graves and investigate the fate of missing Azerbaijani citizens.

Concurrently, the Communications Working Group under the Interagency Center of the Coordination Headquarters met with students from Karabakh University and local influencers. The meeting focused on communication strategies to inform domestic and international audiences about reconstruction, economic revitalization, mine clearance, and sustainable resettlement efforts occurring within the liberated territories.
