EU Funds Expected to Boost Hungary’s Economy by Over 4%
Hungary is preparing to tap a €10 billion EU recovery package to spur a projected 4 percent or higher economic growth. The government must meet all commitments by August 31, submit supporting documentation by September, and await an European Commission decision expected in December.
According to development‑policy expert Tamás Cserneczky, the funding will become visible within one to two years through new railway and HÉV‑line equipment, expanded student‑housing capacity and related effects on rental markets. The podcast discussion highlighted that similar EU inflows previously helped the Hungarian economy exceed a 4 percent growth rate.
