EU funds launch digital tourist routes in Galicia and Valencia

The Galicia Suroeste region, together with 14 municipalities, has created 17 digitally sign‑posted cycling routes and installed small bicycle‑repair stations in each town. Funded by the EU’s Next Generation recovery programme, the project aims to boost sustainable sport tourism, extend the tourist season and cut carbon emissions.

In Valencia, the city has digitised the historic Santo Caliz trail with a multilingual mobile app and two interactive information panels. The app offers multimedia guides, 2‑ and 3‑dimensional maps, augmented‑reality features and gamified challenges. This initiative, also financed by the EU recovery plan, seeks to enhance visitor experience and accessibility for locals and tourists alike.
