EU GDP reaches €18.8 trillion in 2025
Eurostat data show that the European Union's gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to €18.8 trillion in 2025. Germany was the largest economy, contributing €4.5 trillion or 23.8 % of the Union's total output. France and Italy followed with shares of 15.8 % and 12.0 % respectively, together accounting for more than a quarter of EU economic activity.
Spain contributed 9 %, the Netherlands 6.3 % and Poland 4.9 %. The smallest economies were Malta (0.1 % share), Cyprus, Estonia and Latvia (each 0.2 %). Slovakia ranked tenth among the 27 member states with a 0.7 % share, while its neighbours Hungary (1.2 %), the Czech Republic (1.8 %) and Poland (4.9 %) posted higher contributions.
The overall growth rate of EU GDP in 2025 was projected at around 1.5 %.
