AI governance and reliability issues emerge in Europe and industry

A survey of 157 organisations found that 66% are deploying autonomous AI agents in business processes, yet only 5% fully trust the evaluation methods used to verify them. Many firms have moved agents from test environments to production, where operational problems have appeared, prompting calls for continuous, scenario‑rich testing and traceability of actions.

In Brussels, the European Parliament will host the “Artificial Intelligence for Accessibility – From Innovation to European Standard” event on 14 July. The forum will bring together EU officials, researchers, health professionals and industry to discuss AI‑driven accessibility for people with disabilities, including sign‑language communication tools, health data management and ethical governance. A live demonstration of a sign‑language avatar by Vection Technologies is planned.

In Italy, Friuli‑Venezia Giulia President Massimiliano Fedriga addressed a workshop in Trieste, urging that artificial intelligence be regulated rather than halted. He highlighted the rapid societal and economic impact of AI and called for rules that manage the technology’s effects without stifling innovation.
