EU imposes USB-C charging standard for laptops across the bloc

The European Union has introduced a uniform USB-C charging standard for electronic devices, requiring a single charging port for upcoming models. The change applies across the EU and aims to simplify charging for consumers.

From the end of April 2026, the USB-C charging standard will be extended to laptops, including notebooks and Thunderbolt devices, under the same rule.
