Iran-EU trade volume drops to 952 million euros in H1 2026

Trade relations between Iran and the European Union saw a significant decline in the first half of 2026. According to Eurostat, total trade volume reached approximately 952 million euros, representing a 26 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2025.

EU exports to Iran fell by 26 percent to 754 million euros, while EU imports from Iran dropped by 24 percent to 198 million euros. Germany remains Iran’s largest trading partner within the EU, accounting for 32 percent of total trade, though bilateral trade with Germany decreased by 36 percent to 304 million euros.

Separately, the Iran Mercantile Exchange has announced new regulations for calculating the base price of rebar. Starting September 4, 2026, the base price will be adjusted based on the ratio of transactions to supply, with fluctuations ranging from -2 percent to +2 percent depending on market activity.
