EU launches funding call for homelessness‑support projects in Poland

The European Union has opened an application round for projects that help people in crisis or at risk of homelessness return to independent living. Up to 95% of eligible costs can be financed, with funding covering training apartments, the "First Home" model, counselling, psychological therapy, street‑work, assistance services, vocational courses, job‑search support and paid internships. The scheme also earmarks money for training and supervision of staff working with vulnerable groups to prevent burnout.

Eligible applicants include local governments, non‑governmental organisations, cultural and sport institutions, social‑economy enterprises, housing cooperatives and businesses of any size. Applications must be submitted electronically via the SOWA EFS portal by 30 June 2026, with results expected in October 2026. The programme aims to create stable housing as a foundation for social and economic reintegration and to build professional capacities across the sector.
