EU launches INDTEGRATE green hydrogen project to cut fossil fuel use

The Horizon Europe‑funded INDTEGRATE project has begun a three‑year collaboration to integrate green‑hydrogen technologies into Europe’s energy‑intensive industries. By combining renewable electricity, waste‑heat recovery and advanced digital‑twin tools, the consortium – which includes Greek development consultants, leading manufacturers, research centres and universities – aims to demonstrate technically viable and economically sustainable hydrogen production that can replace fossil fuels.

Pilot installations will test fuel‑cell systems and digital optimisation models in real industrial plants. The initiative supports the European Union’s target of becoming the first climate‑neutral continent by 2050 and seeks to enhance the competitiveness of European industry in the clean‑energy era. The inaugural meeting was organised by KERIONICS, where partners outlined roles, technical approaches and outreach activities to disseminate results across Europe.
