EU Launches Product Digital Passport Registry with Test Environment
The European Commission has launched the EU Product Digital Passport (DPP) Registry, providing a secure platform for economic operators to record unique product identifiers and associated metadata. The service includes a test environment, technical documentation, implementation guidelines and a dedicated helpdesk.
The registry supports the EU eco‑design regulation (Regulation 2024/1781) and will cover sectors such as textiles, steel, aluminium, tyres, furniture, ICT, energy‑related products, large‑capacity batteries, construction goods, toys and detergents. The first mandatory application for large batteries is scheduled for 18 February 2027.
