EU Public Support Reaches Record High in Eurobarometer Survey
A Eurobarometer poll shows 74 % of respondents across the European Union view membership positively, the highest level in four decades. Seventy percent describe the EU as a “place of stability”.
In Germany, 83 % are satisfied with their quality of life, and the most important issues are financial stability, health care access and social life. Around 90 % say the Union should act more cohesively on global challenges, and support for a stronger EU role on the world stage has risen by eight percentage points since the previous survey.
Optimism about the EU’s future has slipped, with only 48 % of Germans describing themselves as “fairly” or “very” optimistic, down from almost 70 % a year earlier.
