EU-Tanzania roadshow in Italy promotes agribusiness and digital investment
The EU-Tanzania roadshow, organized by the European Union delegation to Tanzania and the East African Community, took place in Italy in early October 2026 to foster business partnerships and investment. Over 150 Italian companies and investors participated in the event, which focused on the EU’s ‘Global Gateway’ strategy to connect European capital and expertise with sustainable growth opportunities in Tanzania.
The initiative targeted three primary sectors: agribusiness, digital transformation, and energy/renewable resources. During the second day of the roadshow, Tanzanian delegations visited various facilities across the Emilia-Romagna region to observe advanced technologies in action. This included visits to agribusiness operations specializing in post-harvest handling and livestock, as well as digital infrastructure sites focusing on artificial intelligence, supercomputing, and railway testing.
Key speakers included Marc Stalmans of the EU delegation, Fabrizio Lobasso from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Tanzanian Deputy Minister of State Pius Chaya. The program aimed to transform interest into concrete commercial agreements and long-term prosperity through shared expertise.
