EU travel regulations for food in carry-on luggage

Under EU guidelines, travelers must adhere to specific regulations regarding food in carry-on luggage. While solid foods such as bread, cookies, fruit, and vegetables are generally permitted, semi-solid items like jam, yogurt, or soup are subject to the 100-milliliter limit for liquids and gels. These must be packed in a single, transparent, resealable one-liter bag per person.

Exceptions are provided for baby food, which is allowed in necessary quantities for the duration of the trip, and food required for medical reasons or specific animal feed. Travelers should also be aware that while items may be allowed on a flight, local import regulations regarding perishable goods like meat or eggs may vary upon arrival.
