EU-Ukraine Drone Alliance to hold inaugural meeting in Brussels

The EU-Ukraine Drone Alliance is scheduled to hold its inaugural meeting on September 11 in Brussels. The gathering aims to establish a timeline for the development of drone and counter-drone systems and to define strategic priorities for technological cooperation.

Created by the European Commission, the alliance seeks to combine Ukraine’s combat experience with European industrial capacity. The group includes 19 companies, split equally between nine European firms—such as Spain’s Indra Group, Italy’s Fincantieri, Germany’s Quantum Systems, and others—and nine Ukrainian manufacturers, including Skyfall Industries and ATHLON AVIA.

The initiative intends to create a platform for industrial cooperation and accelerated production, potentially benefiting from up to 10 billion euros in unused funds from the SAFE program. The alliance's goal is to contribute to a comprehensive European capacity by linking sensors and effectors across the bloc.
