EU workplace survey reveals high digital monitoring and AI adoption

A survey of over 70,000 workers across 27 EU member states reveals significant disparities in workplace culture and digital monitoring. While digital tool usage remains relatively consistent across the bloc, the level of employee oversight varies greatly by country.

In the Czech Republic, workers show higher-than-average adoption of digital technologies. Approximately 34% of Czech employees use artificial intelligence for work tasks, compared to the EU average of 30%. Additionally, 85% of Czech workers use computers for professional purposes, exceeding the EU average of 80%.

However, this high level of digitalization is accompanied by intensive monitoring. In the Czech Republic, nearly half of employees are subject to some form of working time monitoring, and one in four are under surveillance via internet activity, cameras, or vehicle tracking. This contrasts with regions like Copenhagen, where workplace monitoring is notably less stringent.
