Euchareena man fined for drink-driving offence
Christopher Nicholas Thornberry, a P-plater from Euchareena, has been fined $1,500 for low-range drink-driving. The incident occurred on Burrendong Way near Mullion Creek when police stopped him for speeding.
During the stop, Thornberry returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.079. While he claimed to have been around cannabis users, official analysis results were pending at the time of his appearance in Orange Local Court.
Judge Greg Grogin described Thornberry’s driving history as “fairly appalling” and “disgraceful,” noting previous offences including a high-range drink-driving charge in 2020 and multiple mid-range offences. Thornberry was also subject to an intensive correction order at the time of the offence.
