EUCLYD raises over €200 million for AI chip development
Eindhoven-based AI startup EUCLYD has secured over €200 million in a Series A financing round to develop ultra-efficient semiconductor and data center infrastructure. The funding round was co-led by Samsung, Somerset Capital Partners, Scaleup Europe Fund (managed by EQT), and Innovation Industries, with additional participation from EIFO, imec. xpand, the Brabant Development Agency (BOM), and Quadri.
Founded by Bernardo Kastrup and Atul Sinha, EUCLYD aims to address the growing energy, memory, and cost constraints of large-scale AI models. Unlike traditional GPUs designed for graphics, EUCLYD is developing a platform specifically for AI inference. Their roadmap includes ‘craftwerk’, described as the world’s first agentic AI silicon, and the ‘craftwerk station CWS’, an exascale AI factory designed for low power consumption through processor-memory co-design.
Former ASML President and CEO Peter Wennink has joined the company as Chairman of the Board. The company intends to use the capital to expand its engineering team and accelerate the development of its silicon and systems roadmap to compete in enterprise, sovereign, and hyperscale AI markets.
