EUFOR to conduct ‘Quick Response 2026’ exercise in Bosnia and Herzegovina
EUFOR Commander Major General Maurizio Fronda has announced the multinational exercise ‘Quick Response 2026’, scheduled to take place from August 22 to September 3 across various locations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The exercise will involve EUFOR personnel from 24 participating countries, supplemented by reserve units from Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, Hungary, and Romania, as well as a rapid response unit from KFOR. The primary objective is to demonstrate the ability to rapidly deploy and reinforce forces, coordinate effectively with partners, and maintain the high level of readiness required to fulfill the mandate granted by the United Nations Security Council.
Major General Fronda noted that while the security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina remains stable, maintaining this state requires constant readiness and close cooperation. Deputy Minister of Security Ivica Bošnjak emphasized that a key goal is ensuring coordination between all involved institutions, including police structures, local communities, and law enforcement agencies, to facilitate the exchange of information during crisis situations.
