EU‑Funded Roztocze Bike Path Network Project
The Roztocze Bike Path Network project, financed under the European Funds for Lublin 2021‑2027, aims to build a 21.34 km system of pedestrian‑bike trails and seven cyclist service stations across several municipalities in southeastern Poland. The total investment amounts to 58.35 million zł, with 49.60 million zł supplied by the European Regional Development Fund and 3.33 million zł from the national budget. Implementation runs from 25 March 2024 to 31 December 2028 and is coordinated by the Roztoczański Związek Powiatowo‑Gminny, involving Gmina Frampol, Gmina Janów Lubelski, Gmina Józefów, the towns of Kraśnik and Tomaszów Lubelski, and several counties.
The project will create high‑quality, asphalt or gravel‑surfaced trails separated from road traffic by low‑green strips or signage, install lighting, repair stations, and e‑bike charging points, and ensure accessibility for people with disabilities. Additional goals include developing seven cultural and tourism facilities, promoting sustainable use of natural and cultural resources, and positioning Roztocze as a recognizable destination for bicycle tourism.
