EUG Salerno 2026 facilities map released for over 4,000 athletes
The organizers of the 2026 European Universities Games in Salerno have published a definitive map of competition and training venues. More than 4,000 university athletes will be accommodated across a network of facilities centred on the University of Salerno campuses in Fisciano and Baronissi, complemented by extra‑campus sites throughout the province of Salerno and parts of Avellino. The list of host municipalities includes Baronissi, Fisciano, Sarno, Roccapiemonte, Nocera Inferiore, Mercato San Severino, Montoro, Bellizzi, Eboli, Pellezzano and Pontecagnano, with the PaladelMauro in Avellino slated for futsal matches. New infrastructure such as eight padel courts, multi‑purpose halls for badminton, volleyball and beach sports, and an arena for basketball 3×3 has been integrated to meet the event’s logistical goals of minimizing travel time and maximizing athlete comfort.
The planning emphasizes tight connections between venues and athlete residences, with distances of a few minutes’ walk from housing to fields. The campus hubs will host the bulk of competitions while historic and modern local sports halls provide additional capacity, ensuring a coordinated and efficient delivery of the multi‑sport event scheduled for 18 July – 1 August 2026.
