Eugenia Martínez de Irujo establishes retreat in Portugal's Douro region

Eugenia Martínez de Irujo, daughter of the Duchess of Alba, has established a residence in Vila Nova de Foz Côa, located in the Douro region of Portugal. The area is noted for its significant Paleolithic rock art, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1998.

The municipality is home to the Côa Museum, a contemporary architectural center dedicated to the interpretation of the prehistoric engravings found in the Côa Valley. Additionally, the region is part of the Douro Demarcated Region, the world's oldest protected wine-producing area, famous for Port and Douro table wines.

In a related cultural context, Tana Rivera, the daughter of Eugenia Martínez de Irujo and Fran Rivera, is noted for her presence within the intersection of Spanish aristocracy and bullfighting culture.
