Eugenio Derbez denounces Latino voter intimidation in US

Mexican actor Eugenio Derbez has issued a warning regarding alleged intimidation efforts targeting the Latino community in the United States. Speaking at a press conference in Los Angeles on October 15, Derbez urged Hispanic citizens to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming November 3 elections, questioning why certain sectors would attempt to discourage their participation if their votes were not influential.

Derbez used the event to endorse Democratic candidate Xavier Becerra for the governorship of California. He stated that Becerra understands the specific challenges faced by the Hispanic community. According to a poll from the University of California, Berkeley, Becerra holds a 58 percent preference rate, compared to 37 percent for Republican candidate Steve Hilton.
