Eugenio Nastasi, Calabrian poet and painter, passes away

Eugenio Nastasi, a notable poet and painter from Rossano, passed away on August 13. Born in 1948, Nastasi was recognized for his dual contributions to literature and visual arts, characterized by a subtle and melancholic style.

His literary work includes the volume ‘L’occhio degli alberi’, published by Edilazio, and ‘Ultimo settembre’, which explores themes of the sea and time. He was also featured in the 2017 poetry anthology ‘Quadernario Calabria – Quasi a filo di luna’, published by LietoColle, which highlights contemporary Calabrian poets.

Writer Pierfranco Bruni remembered Nastasi as a reserved and gentle individual whose poetry reflected a deep connection to the landscapes of Calabria.
