Eumseong County announces series of autumn cultural and sports festivals

Eumseong County has announced a series of cultural and athletic festivals scheduled for October. The events aim to promote local tradition and community unity.

The festivities begin with the 20th Chungcheongbuk-do Para Games, held from October 1 to 2. Approximately 2,300 athletes and officials from 11 cities and counties will compete in 17 different sports. The opening ceremony will feature performances by the Gugak band Granada and singers Geobukgi and Shin Seung-tae.

Following the sports competition, the 45th Seolseong Cultural Festival will take place from October 16 to 17 at the Eumseong General Stadium. Under the theme ‘Connecting Tradition and Opening the Future,’ the festival includes traditional folk programs such as the Eumseong Turtle Play reenactment, pansori competitions, and traditional wedding ceremonies.

The series will conclude on October 18 with the 43rd Eumseong County Citizens' Sports Festival, bringing together residents from nine townships to foster community spirit through friendly competition.
