Eumseong County village heads advocate for public institution relocation

Approximately 350 village heads from nine townships in Eumseong County gathered at the Geumbit Sports Center in Geumwang-eup for the ‘2026 Eumseong County Village Heads Workshop’. During the event, participants held a performance to demonstrate their unified support for attracting the second phase of public institution relocation to the region.

Local leaders emphasized that the relocation of public institutions is a critical driver for regional growth, expected to stimulate job creation, corporate investment, and population influx. Eumseong County plans to pursue a strategy that links the Chungbuk Innovation City with local industrial and corporate foundations to secure these institutions.

In addition to the relocation advocacy, the workshop included capacity-building training, sports activities, and a talent show. During the ceremony, 64 village heads received commendations for their dedication to regional development, including Min Byeong-deok of Daeso-eup, who was named ‘Model Village Head’.
