Eumseong-gun to host 45th Seolseong Cultural Festival

The 45th Seolseong Cultural Festival is scheduled to take place from the 16th to the 17th at the Eumseong General Stadium. Under the slogan ‘Connecting Tradition, Opening the Future,’ the festival aims to highlight the value of local intangible heritage and foster unity among residents, former residents, and foreign inhabitants.

On the first day, events include a traditional wedding ceremony, a rice tteokbokki sharing event, and a reenactment of the Eumseong Turtle Play. The opening ceremony will feature performances by students from Far East University and the 21st Eumseong County Citizen Awards.

The second day will host the National Pansori Competition (Junggoje) across various age groups, alongside the Seolseong Global Festival and the BBS Youth Harmony Square to promote multicultural exchange. Additionally, a traditional folk game competition involving nine townships will be held.

Visitors can access 25 experience booths offering activities such as natural dyeing, traditional calligraphy, and folk games. Related events, including the 2026 Eumseong Arts Festival and the 43rd Eumseong County Citizen Sports Day, will also take place during this period.
