Eunpyeong-gu announces administrative restructuring for 2027
Eunpyeong-gu has announced a legislative notice for an organizational restructuring aimed at implementation on January 1, 2027. The move is intended to strengthen the policy execution capabilities of the 9th local government and reflect changing administrative conditions.
The restructuring involves renaming three of the seven existing bureaus: the Planning and Finance Bureau will become the Planning and Economy Bureau, the Education and Culture Bureau will become the Future Education and Culture Bureau, and the Spatial Innovation Bureau will become the Rapid Development Bureau.
Key changes include shifting the Public Relations Officer to report directly to the District Mayor, while the Audit Officer will remain under the Deputy Mayor. The Planning and Economy Bureau will expand to seven departments, including a new department for youth and middle-aged employment. Additionally, responsibilities regarding childcare, family policy, and social welfare will be redistributed between the Future Education and Culture Bureau and the Care and Welfare Bureau. The district stated that no separate budget is required for this reorganization.
