Eunpyeong-gu proposes 1.33 trillion KRW supplementary budget

Eunpyeong-gu in Seoul has submitted a second supplementary budget proposal for 2026 to the Eunpyeong-gu Council. The proposed budget totals 1.3368 trillion KRW, representing a 3.1% increase (39.8 billion KRW) over the previously established budget.

The funding is sourced from surplus funds from the 2025 fiscal year settlement, general adjustment grants, national and city subsidies, and adjustments to unused expenditure budgets. The district plans to prioritize three main areas: social welfare (12.4 billion KRW), public health (4 billion KRW), and local infrastructure (1.6 billion KRW).

Key allocations include: - Social Welfare: Support for parental benefits, livelihood benefits, housing benefits, and disability activity support. - Public Health: Support for maternal and newborn health management, postpartum care expenses, and COVID-19 vaccine procurement. - Infrastructure: Improving parking environments in Yeonsinnae shopping districts, traditional market management, creating tennis courts, and repairing sewage facilities.

The budget is expected to be finalized on September 21 following deliberations during the 325th regular session of the Eunpyeong-gu Council in September.
