Eupen police shooting kills Turkish citizen Halit Altun
A Turkish citizen, 42-year-old Halit Altun, was shot and killed by police following a confrontation at Scheiblerplatz Park in Eupen, Belgium. The incident reportedly began as a dispute between children that escalated into a larger altercation involving approximately 50 people.
The Eupen Prosecutor's Office stated that the conflict originated from a school-related disagreement. According to official reports, Altun brandished a knife and injured an individual attempting to intervene, prompting police to fire two shots to neutralize him. Altun died at the hospital.
