Eurescom to host EU-Japan 6G workshop in Tokyo

Eurescom will host the “6G Horizons: Synergies for a Connected Future” workshop on April 1, 2025, as part of the EU-Japan Digital Week 2025. The event is scheduled to take place at the University of Tokyo’s Sanjō Conference Hall.

The workshop aims to strengthen digital innovation and partnerships between the European Union, Japan, and other Indo-Pacific nations regarding 6G development. Key objectives include assessing how 6G research can address emerging social and business needs, specifically considering the impact of disruptive technologies like generative AI.

Organized by Adam Kapovits of Eurescom and co-organized by Professor Akihiro Nakao of ASPIRE, the event is expected to host approximately 120 6G experts. The program includes contributions from officials such as Matsui Masayuki of Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
