Euro rises slightly against dollar amid oil volatility

The euro saw a slight increase against the US dollar on Wednesday, trading at 1.1233 dollars compared to 1.1231 the previous day. This movement occurred during a session characterized by volatility in oil prices.

Oil markets experienced fluctuations following reports that the United States acknowledged diplomatic contacts aimed at resolving the conflict with Iran. Mediation efforts led by Qatar and Pakistan have reportedly presented an “intermediate proposal” to both Washington and Tehran to reduce escalation and resume negotiations.

In energy markets, Brent crude fell slightly by 0.03% to 108.76 dollars, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) dropped 0.62% to 97.21 dollars, despite having briefly surpassed the 100-dollar mark earlier in the day. While the euro gained against the dollar, it declined against the British pound and the Japanese yen.
