Eurobank to expand presence to Abu Dhabi by 2027
Eurobank is expanding its international footprint with plans to establish a physical presence in Abu Dhabi by early 2027. The bank is also evaluating potential expansion into Saudi Arabia.
Kostas Vasileiou, Deputy CEO and Head of Corporate & Investment Banking at Eurobank, stated that the new Abu Dhabi office will have a targeted scope rather than offering a full range of banking services. The move aims to strengthen relationships with the business community and identify new investment opportunities in markets where trade and investment flows are evolving.
The bank has already selected an executive to lead the local presence in the financial hub. Eurobank intends to act as a bridge between the Gulf and Europe through five key activity axes: providing advisory services for investments in Greece, Bulgaria, and Cyprus; financing acquisitions in those regions and across Europe; participating in large-scale infrastructure project financing in the Middle East; supporting Asian companies expanding into Eurobank’s systemic markets; and providing wealth management services.
