Greek startups receive increased support through banking and ecosystem programs

Greek financial institutions and ecosystem stakeholders are prioritizing the support of startups and high-tech enterprises through various acceleration programs, competitions, and mentoring initiatives. These efforts focus on critical technological sectors including artificial intelligence, fintech, deep tech, cybersecurity, and green technologies.

Eurobank’s ‘egg – enter grow go’ program remains a central pillar of this ecosystem. Since its inception in 2013, the program has supported over 460 business groups and more than 1,600 entrepreneurs. The initiative has also provided support to over 170 research teams through pre-acceleration programs aimed at connecting academic research with the market. Recent summits held at the egg Hub in Moschato have brought together investors, researchers, and institutional representatives to foster commercial partnerships in fields such as life sciences and sustainability.

Other notable initiatives include the NBG Business Seeds and Alpha Bank’s FinQuest, alongside various university-led competitions like the 4th Student Open Innovation Competition, which connects students with businesses to provide mentoring and opportunities for international exposure.
