Eurobodalla water security strengthened by $150m dam

The Southern Storage Facility in the Eurobodalla region has been completed following a $150 million investment. The project, jointly funded by the Australian Government, the NSW Government, and the Eurobodalla Shire Council, consists of a new 3,000 ML storage dam near Bodalla and a Tuross River pump station.

The facility is designed to enhance water security and resilience against drought and climate pressures by pumping water from the Tuross River during high-flow periods. The dam is 38 metres deep and 370 metres long, featuring advanced water quality monitoring and flood management infrastructure. Filling is currently underway, with the storage expected to reach full capacity by mid-2027, depending on river conditions.
