Eurofarma industrial complex visited by President Lula

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Health Minister Alexandre Padilha visited the new Eurofarma industrial complex in Montes Claros, Minas Gerais. Eurofarma is noted as the first 100% Brazilian-owned multinational pharmaceutical company.

The facility represents an investment of R$ 1.8 billion and is designed to be the company’s largest industrial complex, aiming to expand production capacity and consolidate its presence in Latin America and globally. The site currently operates 12 packaging lines for over 170 different products.

Eurofarma maintains strategic partnerships with the Unified Health System (SUS), particularly through the Farmácia Popular program. The company produces various medications used in the program and specialized SUS pharmacies, including treatments for hypertension (such as spironolactone and losartan), diabetes (dapagliflozin), and epilepsy (levetiracetam).
