Euroleague launches investigation into Dubai BC over Thomas Walkup

The Euroleague is launching a disciplinary investigation into Dubai BC regarding its approach to player Thomas Walkup. The investigation focuses on two primary issues: first, that Dubai BC allegedly approached Walkup in violation of regulations requiring such contact to occur only within the final 60 days of a player's contract. Walkup is currently under contract with Olympiacos until the summer of 2027, with no buyout clause.

Second, the Euroleague is reviewing statements made by Dubai BC General Manager Dejan Kamestenjasevic, who claimed the club did everything possible to acquire the 34-year-old guard. These actions have been deemed irregular by the league.

Meanwhile, the situation between Walkup and Olympiacos remains strained. The player has reportedly ceased communication with the club and has filed a complaint seeking to terminate his contract, while Olympiacos has formally accused Dubai BC of illegal approach tactics. This development occurs as Dubai BC seeks permanent membership in the Euroleague and the Euroleague Clubs Association (ECA).
