EuroLeague to visit Tel Aviv to assess return of Israeli clubs

Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv are expected to begin their seasons playing away from Israel, similar to last year, due to the ongoing security situation. However, Israeli clubs remain optimistic about returning to their home arenas in the near future.

EuroLeague executives, including CEO Chus Bueno and Director of Competitions Diego Guillén, are scheduled to visit Tel Aviv within the next two weeks. This visit, requested by Maccabi, aims to assess the local situation and determine how long the teams must continue using neutral venues. The return to Israel is contingent on the absence of new missile attacks.

Maccabi is also considering Cyprus as a potential permanent home for its EuroLeague home games. The club is reportedly evaluating two venues: Spyros Kyprianou in Limassol and Tassos Papadopoulos – Eleftheria in Nicosia. The club has previously used Cyprus for preseason training.
